The “Dark Light Christmas” series is a type of semi-objective photo-reportage (non-distanced, personalized photo-journalism) realized in 2010 at the Holy Land Experience, a 15-acre theme park in Orlando, Florida.
[While it might resemble, as well, an indirect homage to the gonzo journalism of Hunter S. Thompson, or a type of gonzo photo-journalism (where all objectivity is thrown to the wind), it is also in complete earnest. In place of “fear and loathing” (as in Thompson’s famous 1971 reportage from Las Vegas, another of America’s many theme parks), “Dark Light Christmas” addresses “fear and faith,” or spectacle combined with sincerity.]
